How to wear Trumpet Sleeve Blouses
This weekend the Sydney weather has taken a nose dive and thousands of Sydney siders will have nothing to wear to work this week. If it's been a while since you've been in the shops lets take a look at some of the key trends you'll see and how to wear them.
Heading to the shops you'll find flowy flowery blouses with frills and ties and lace all over them. If you are not a girly girl this is going have you heading for plain cashmere jumper at Uniglo pretty fast, but don't panic, you can learn to love these tops! I promise.

First think about changing just one thing - silky fabric, flowers, flowy sleeves might just be too much for you if you are a Jeans and T-shirt type at heart.
If you're used to florals then try one of these tops in a plain fabric in a colour and texture that you are used to. Like this navy blue T-shirt from witchery.

If you feel more adventurous then you could choose a silk version, again in a plain fabric so that you don't feel you have stepped too far out of your comfort zone.
What to wear it with?
Important Rule: Volume on the top OR the bottom not both. Volume top AND bottom rarely works. Because these tops have a lot of volume at the top they will be best paired with a slim leg cigarette pant or skinny jean. Even if you are bottom heavy the volume of the top will help to balance out your figure. Wide leg crops (3 below) or tapered trousers will also work, but you'll look your best with a slim leg trouser and high heel. This is an elegant look.
